Service Description

Our Moving Water Safety program helps participants gain the confidence and skills needed to have fun and enjoy our beautiful rivers. Discover the thrill of paddling a whitewater kayak and learn proper technique, safety skills, and risk management taught by Paddle Canada certified instructors. Training includes: - 4 hours of instruction with Candlebox Kayaking's experienced, highly certified, expert instructors - High-quality equipment including kayaks by Jackson Kayak, paddles by Werner and Aqua-Bound, drysuits by Kokatat (if needed), and all other necessary whitewater safety equipment - Photos from your time on the water - On-land instruction to help paddlers visualize and understand river features - Flatwater instruction including wet exit coaching to help paddlers gain confidence before advancing to moving water What to bring: - Shoes that can get wet - Personal water bottle (we'll have extra water if you need a refill) - Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, long sleeves - Light windbreaker/rain jacket - Non-cotton clothing that dries easily if wet What people are saying: "Full meal deal with Matt and Cliff as our instructors. Location: Mill Falls (for flat water training and then moving to second pullout on Kejimkujik Main Parkway for river run). Cost: $95/person+tax. Please book at least 48hrs in advance. We do our best to accommodate last-minute bookings. Includes: Kayak, paddle, PFD, sprayskirt, throw bag, helmet, drysuit (if needed), gloves, and neoprene booties. Does not include park entrance fees ($6.50 for adults) Participants must be 14 years old and above

Cancellation Policy

All courses run at the discretion of instructors (mostly according to the weather). We do our best to provide instruction suitable to the conditions. We require 30 days notice for cancellation(s) of courses (excluding SKGABC guide training which is 75 days). Cancellations must be made via E-mail to info@candleboxkayaking.com. We reserve the right to cancel or alter any clinics or trips due to weather or insufficient registration. We do our best to reschedule. If any participant experiences symptoms of COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to training, the participant must cancel. We're happy to provide full credit to attend the same or similar training at a later date. If you cannot make it to a training location due to transportation disruptions or travel restrictions, we are pleased to provide a full credit for the same or similar training. As all outdoor activities involve risk, we recommend you obtain any personal, medical, and/or cancellation insurance that you may deem appropriate. Thanks.
