Service Description
This training provides national certification in the instruction and administration of the Paddle Canada Level-2 Skills course. A Level-2 Instructor is certified to: - conduct Paddle Canada Waterfront Kayak, Basic Kayak, Level-1 Skills and Level-2 Skills courses and certify paddlers at those levels, and - assist a Level-3 Instructor on a Level-3 Skills course. Prerequisites: - At least 18 years of age. - Membership: Current Paddle Canada membership and Provincial/Territorial membership (where required). - Skills Certification: Paddle Canada Level-3 Skills - Instructor Certification: Paddle Canada Level-1 Instructor. - Instructing Experience: A minimum of two, Level-1 Skills courses within the past three years, being the lead instructor on both courses. Significant teaching experience as a Level-1 Instructor in a wide variety of conditions and locations including a minimum of 15 days of logged instruction of Level-1 curriculum (either courses or clinics). - Other certification: Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime). While not required for course registration, the candidate must be able to provide proof of certification within one year after Level-2 Instructor certification is complete. Significant paddling experience in a wide variety of conditions and locations. Training includes: - 5 days sea kayak instructor training with Candlebox Kayaking's experienced, highly certified, expert instructor trainers - Time spent paddling beautiful Kejimkujik National Park and Port Mouton - Kayaks by Boreal Design on "first come/served" basis - High quality safety equipment including drysuits by Kokatat (on first come/first served basis), helmets, spray skirts, tow lines, PFD's What people are saying: "I took (a) kayaking instructor course through Candlebox Kayaking and I was impressed with the professionalism from owner Matt DeLong. Cancellation Policy
All courses and tours run at the discretion of instructors and guides (mostly according to the weather). We do our best to provide instruction/tours suitable to the conditions. We require 30 days notice for cancellation(s) of courses (excluding SKGABC guide training which is 75 days) and 48hrs notice for cancellations of tours. For cancellations a full refund less a 20% administration fee will be issued. Our cancellation policy must apply even in the event of a medical problem or family circumstance. We will do everything possible to fill your vacant spot for you. In the case of a Force Majeure, such as but not limited to acts of terrorism, war, pandemics, labour disputes, government actions, strikes, or major adverse weather conditions, all terms and conditions may be subject to change. We reserve the right to cancel or alter any clinics or trips due to weather or insufficient registration. In these cases, full refunds will be issued and we will do our best to reschedule. We're happy to provide full credit to attend the same or similar training at a later date. If you cannot make it to a training location due to transportation disruptions or travel restrictions, we are pleased to provide a full credit for the same or similar training.
